Five steps to the Five Days of Glory: Step #1: Personal (Self)-Evaluation

The final countdown for the Five Days of Glory is here! For the next five days we would like to focus on five key points to assist you in preparing yourself to receive all that the Lord intends for you  during this time of fasting, praying, meditating, fellowshipping, worshiping and hearing of the Word.

Understanding the deep need to prepare your hearts for the revival and learning how to cooperate with God as He pours into the earth, will aid you in being sensitive to the move of God during this special time. This year’s theme is, “There are Giants in the Land.” Our prayer is that you take time to prepare yourself mentally, physically, and spiritually, for a time such as this. Ask God to make you conscious of His presence and learn to abide in Him moment by moment.

#1 Personal Evaluation

Take Spiritual Inventory

What does the Word say?

“Test and evaluate yourselves to see whether you are in the faith and living your lives as [committed] believers. Examine yourselves [not me]! Or do you not recognize this about yourselves [by an ongoing experience] that Jesus Christ is in you—unless indeed you fail the test and are rejected as counterfeit?” (2Cor 13:5 AMP)

“Search me [thoroughly], O God, and know my heart; Test me and know my anxious thoughts; And see if there is any wicked or hurtful way in me, And lead me in the everlasting way.”

(Psalm 139:23,24AMP)

As you prepare for the Five Days of Glory, it is beneficial for you to begin with evaluating yourself. Take an account of your efforts for the Lord and see them for what they are.

Here are a few questions you can ask yourself:

Am I making a concerted effort to advance the kingdom of God?

Am I being a witness of God’s love?

[If you are serving in ministry] Am I able to say that I am doing my very best?

Have I taken time out of my busy schedule to commune with the Lord?

Am I ensuring, daily, that Christ is the Center of my Life?

Have I allowed my possessions, situations and circumstances or a person to take the place of God in my life?

What’s next?

Take a brief moment in this day to seriously evaluate yourself. If you find that after surveying yourself you are falling short, then take this time to fully repent. Get on your knees before Him and empty yourself. Then, get up, dust yourself off and remember to see yourself as God sees you. God is constantly mindful of you and sees you as his beloved child. You belong to a loving Father. A good, good Father! Remember, we are heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ. God sees you as righteous because the death of his Son cleansed you from your sins. Never forget that His Word ensures us of new mercies every day. As surely as you have breath in your body, you have another chance to get it right.
