Times of Refreshing from the Presence of the Lord
Teacher: Pastor Ava Richardson
Foundation Scripture:
Acts 3: 19 AMPC 19 So repent (change your mind and purpose); turn around and return [to God], that your sins may be erased (blotted out, wiped clean), that times of refreshing (of recovering from the effects of heat, of reviving with fresh air) may come from the presence of the Lord;
There is a mark that God has for our lives. And when we miss that mark, it is sin. Read Acts 3:19. Before the refreshing can take place, there is something we must do first. We must get our minds clean and get them cleared to experience what God has for us.
The Times of Refreshing is a time of refreshing, recovery and reset. It is also a time of recalibration.
As believers, recalibration comes becomes God will never forget what He intended man to be. He always wants to bring us back to the original place.
So, He recalibrates us. Recalibrate implies to adjust or correct our settings which have been set off. He actively realign us so we will continue to value with He values.
Philippians 2:12 (TPT) 12 My beloved ones, just like you’ve always listened to everything I’ve taught you in the past, I’m asking you now to keep following my instructions as though I were right there with you. Now you must continue to make this new life fully manifested as you live in the holy awe of God—which brings you trembling into his presence.
How many times have our phones needed a reset? Sometimes, it is easy. But if there is a virus, we must perform a hard reset so the phone can forget everything that possibly caused it to malfunction. We should only need a reset annually. Take note, if we need it more than once, something is running as an undercurrent in our lives that is causing us to malfunction.
Why is recalibration so important? First, know it is the Holy Spirit doing the work. We want Him to have His way. Recalibration is needed because our redemption is real. Your redemptions is real. What Jesus did for us is eternal redemption.
Scripture Proof: Hebrews 9: 12 He went once for all into the Holy Place [the Holy of Holies of heaven, into the presence of God], and not through the blood of goats and calves, but through His own blood, having obtained and secured eternal redemption [that is, the salvation of all who personally believe in Him as Savior].
Our understanding of our redemption is vitally important. Therefore, here at CLBC, our diet will be one where we understand our eternal redemption. We must understand what Jesus said we could do and what we could have. We’ve got to get to the point that we say, “I’m redeemed enough to do it.”
Matthew 4: 3 states 3 Now when the tempter came to Him, he said, “If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.” This verse lets us know that satan knew Jesus was the Messiah. However, satan couldn’t figure out how God got into human form to take care of him. (Think and pause.) Not only did God put Himself in Jesus as human form, He also put Himself inside of every man. That’s why our calibration had to be recalibrated. Christ reproduced Himself!
There is a fuller manifestation of who we really are in Christ. Read Colossians 2: 8-10: Colossians 2: 8-10 TPT Beware that no one distracts you or intimidates you in their attempt to lead you away from Christ’s fullness by pretending to be full of wisdom when they’re filled with endless arguments of human logic. For they operate with humanistic and clouded judgments based on the mindset of this world system, and not the anointed truths of the Anointed One. 9 For he is the complete fullness of deity living in human form. 10 And our own completeness is now found in him. We are completely filled with God as Christ’s fullness overflows within us. He is the Head of every kingdom and authority in the universe!
It declares the fullest of the Godhead lives bodily in us. There is an adversary who would want us to live a strip down version of ourselves. There is an adversary that doesn’t want us tap into our full redemption. During this times of refreshing and recalibration, you are empowered to stand strong in your redemptive rights. God will meet us on and in the pages of His Word.
Let’s meet with God every day!
